A honeybee swarm can be an exciting site to see while the bees have taken to the air. They are not quite as exciting when they land in your Bradford Pear tree 15 feet from your front door. A honeybee swarm is a natural part of the life of a bee colony. When a colony reproduces itself, a new queen is made and the old queen (usually) and roughly 50% of the colony population will take flight to find a new home. When the queen lands, the bees will follow and cluster around her. Swarm sizes can range from about 5,000-20,000 bees and usually happen between May and July. A swarm of bees can land just about anywhere.  Down below is just a few of the places where swarms may be found.

Tree Limbs
Mailboxes
Under Gutters
Under Picnic Tables
Inside automobiles

If you are located outside the 15 mile radius, we will try to locate a beekeeper near you.  If we can't find one we charge a fuel charge of $ .44 per mile.

Please note: swarms may not stay long at the location they have landed.  But if they are left alone, there is a good chance they will find a permanent home nearby.  A colony that finds a hive site is much harder to remove.
